Baltimore Orioles vs Tampa Bay Rays
Start Time: 6:10 PM EST
We’re headed to Central Florida tomorrow for some American League East action, with the Baltimore Orioles visiting the Tampa Bay Rays in St. Petersburg. It’s not a good time to be playing the Rays, as they are on fire, winning nine straight games heading into the series opener against the Orioles on Friday night. Not only are they currently hot, but they’ve been on an extended run, going 9-1, 16-4, and 20-10 over their last 10, 20, and 30 games, respectively.
You’d think we’d clue in by now not to underestimate Tampa Bay, as they seem to surprise every year. But with 74 wins heading into Friday’s action, they are already in their projected win total range heading into the season, and they still have 40+ games to go.
Now back home at Tropicana Field this season, the Rays have taken full advantage of their home field, winning 41 of 59 home contests, the best mark in the league.
You see where this is headed – I don’t like Baltimore’s chances tomorrow. Tampa Bay, on a very playable moneyline, is my best bet for Saturday.
