While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. So we’ve decided to dig into some each week to get you started on your regional MMA journey. This week we keep it domestic for PFL Charlotte from North Carolina for our regional MMA pick.

MMA Regional Pick of the Week: PFL Charlotte
PFL Middleweight Fight: Josh Silveira vs Aaron Jeffery
Card Start Time: Friday (8/7), 7:00pm EST (ESPN)
This PFL card is loaded up with middleweights. On the main card alone, there are three fights featuring 185ers in the PFL’s official rankings. One of those is a battle between #6 and #7 – Josh Silveira and Aaron Jeffery.
After dropping two of three, Silveira bounced back with an impressive win over Russian prospect Murad Ramazanov last time out. While that has given people a lot of faith in his wrestling, it proved another hole for me. He showed signs of slowing late in that fight due to the grinding style. Dealing with clinch work and takedowns wore out the gas tank and had him looking like a shell of himself late.
Enter cardio king Aaron Jeffery. Not only is Jeffery known for being able to work for 15 full minutes, but he also sets a tremendous pace for a man of his size. He brought that action to Dalton Rosta in his last fight – ultimately losing a controversial split decision.
Look for Jeffery to turn up the pace with clinch work and dirty boxing. As Silveira starts to fade, the advantage on the feet should just continue to grow.
