Phoenix Mercury vs Atlanta Dream
Start Time: 7:00 PM EST
It was the Atlanta Dream who made my best bet a nightmare on Monday, getting their doors blown off by the Las Vegas Aces on their home floor. They get another home game tomorrow with another team from out West, but a far less formidable one, the Phoenix Mercury.
The Dream squeaked out a two-point win in the two teams’ only other meeting this season, also in Atlanta. It’s been an up-and-down, streaky season for Atlanta, but they seem to be hot again, riding a five-game winning streak into the blowout against the Aces. They are also tough to beat on their home floor (unless you’re the Las Vegas Aces, who have beaten them twice), going 10-5 at the Gateway Center, the fourth-best home mark in the league.
So I’m going to give the Dream another shot tomorrow, and they better not let me down again. After crunching the numbers, my line is Atlanta -9, making the Dream on the spread is my best bet for Wednesday.
