Seattle Storm vs Dallas Wings
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
It’s WNBA Commissioner’s Cup season again on the women’s hardwood, with the round robin tournament starting tomorrow in Dallas, as the Wings host the Seattle Storm. Since point differential is one of the tie-breakers in the tournament, the fact that this is a Commissioner’s Cup game could have gambling ramifications.
I’m in on the home side, the Wings, in this matchup regardless. After a couple of disastrous seasons where they went a combined 19-65, Dallas (5-3) has come out of the gates this season as one of the league’s better teams. While the duo of Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd get the headlines, it’s been newcomer Jessica Shepard who has been spearheading the team’s revival, averaging a double-double and leading the Wings in rebounds and assists. The Storm, meanwhile, are limping along with a 3-6 record (1-3 on the road).
My line for tomorrow night is Dallas -20, so I like the Wings to cover the substantial spread at the books.
