Atlanta Dream vs Golden State Valkyries
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
After fumbling their home-court advantage for the WNBA Finals by losing to the Atlanta Dream in Game 2, the Golden State Valkyries snatched it back by triumphing in Atlanta in Game 4, 67-62. Now the Valkyries get two of the next three games (if necessary) at the Chase Center (aka Ballhalla), where they were an WNBA-best 17-5 this season.
As mentioned, the Dream already stole a game at Ballhalla, the only L the Valkyries have been dealt at home during their magical playoff run (they’ve gone 5-1 at home). Do I expect Atlanta to pull off the feat again, for a second consecutive time? No, I do not, especially with leading scorer Allisha Gray struggling through a hand injury that has contributed to her shooting 26.7% from the field in the Finals.
My line for Game 5 is Golden State -3.5, so the Valkyries on the spread is my best bet to kick off the week.
