After a rare week off, the UFC is back in action this weekend, heading across the world to the Galaxy Arena in Macau, China. Bantamweights take center stage this Saturday, with a former two-time UFC champion in the main event. For my MMA Prop Play of the Week: UFC Macau, I’ve got a prop play for Saturday’s curtain jerker. UFC Fight Night: Song vs Figueiredo (aka UFC Macau)
Start Time: 4:00 AM EST
Saturday’s opening fight in Macau, China, is a throwback to the early days of the sport, with a world-class Muay Thai fighter going up against a world-class grappler. That’s what MMA was all about in the start – finding out which martial arts discipline is the best.
As is more often than not the case for me, I’m going with the striker in this matchup, which would be Loma Lookboonme, to beat the grappler, Jacqueline Amorim. Lookboonme also has solid offensive and defensive wrestling, which will help, and she should be much better on the feet.
But the Thai fighter isn’t a finisher, so this one is going the distance.
