Vegas Golden Knights vs Colorado Avalanche
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
We start things out West, where the Pacific Division champion Vegas Golden Knights face the Central Division winners, the Colorado Avalanche. Two teams with fairly recent Stanley Cup pedigrees, and a chance for the Avalanche to avenge their 2021 playoff series loss to the Golden Knights.
Not surprisingly, at this point in the playoff grind, both teams enter tomorrow night’s Game 1 in Denver less that 100%, with the visitors listing Mark Stone and Jeremy Lauzon on their injury report, and the home side marking Cale Makar and Artturi Lehkonen as day-to-day with injuries as well.
Despite the potential absences, I don’t see any reason not to pick the Avalanche to prevail not only tomorrow night but in the series. They’ve been the best team in the league from wire to wire thus far, and I expect them to get the jump on the series Wednesday night in front of their home fans.
