Minnesota Wild vs Colorado Avalanche
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
What a wild, run-and-gun start to the Western Conference Second Round series between the Minnesota Wild and the Colorado Avalanche we got on Sunday. Defense went out the window as the two teams combined for five goals in all three periods of the game, which ended in a 9-6 win for the Avalanche.
After a slow-scoring start to their first-round series against the Los Angeles Kings (both 2-1 victories for the Avs), Colorado’s offense started heating up as the series progressed. Now, obviously, it is running on all cylinders. Undefeated in the playoffs, the Avs continue to look like the team to beat out West.
The best team in the league, with the best home record, playing on their home ice in Game 2, Colorado is my pick to win. Unfortunately, the moneyline is a little inflated, but with only one game on the schedule tomorrow, beggars can’t be choosers.
