Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics
Start Time – 7:00 PM EST
Boy, did Game 1 not go well for the Philadelphia 76ers against the Boston Celtics, now did it?! A 32-point win by the Celtics makes this series appear to be a lopsided affair.
There still will be no Joel Embiid coming to Philadelphia’s rescue tomorrow night, and the way the Sixers appear to be outmatched by the Celtics should continue in Game 2. Despite my numbers saying Philly will cover the spread, I’m overruling and taking Boston on the spread.
Best Bet: Boston -13 (-112)
Houston Rockets vs Los Angeles Lakers
Start Time – 10:30 PM EST
Even with the last-minute scratch of Kevin Durant for Game 1, the Houston Rockets still had no business getting beaten by the undermanned Los Angeles Lakers 107-98.
While KD is still questionable for tomorrow’s action, there’s a good chance he’ll suit up. Regardless, I expect a better performance from the Rockets and for the Lakers to revert to the mean. My line is Houston -4.5 (Houston -1.5 minus KD), so the Rockets on the spread is the play.
