In the main event of UFC Vegas 115, Renato Moicano tries to defend his spot in the rankings when he welcomes Chris Duncan. MMA Same Game Parlay of the Week: UFC Vegas 115
UFC Vegas 115 Bantamweight Fight: Ethyn Ewing vs Rafael Estevam
Start Time: 5:00pm EST (Paramount+)
In main card action on Saturday, we have a pair of fighters coming in opposite directions – of weight that is. Ethyn Ewing took a short notice bout to get into the UFC, but had to fight up at featherweight. Now he returns to his normal weight class at 135lbs. Rafael Estevam comes up to bantamweight after repeated failed efforts to get down to 125lbs.
Stylistically we see them in different places at well. Estevam is a talented grappler who is always looking for some takedowns. There has not been a single fight in his UFC career where he didn’t score at least two takedowns. He averages just a whisper over six per 15 minute fight. I think that trend should continue given what I’ve seen of Ewing on the regional scene. He was taken down a couple times by Billy Brand before being signed, and Brand is a far worse wrestler.
On the other side, Ewing puts a pace on people when it comes to the striking. In his debut, he landed 5.67 strikes per minute and flew by his projection for that fight. While I don’t expect him with another 85 due to all of the wrestling, 50 seems like a managable number for him to clear.
When we package those two easy props together, we get some plus-money.
