The UFC’s octagon is on the move again this week, setting down in the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, for its annual visit to the city. A former long-time UFC champion headlines against an up-and-comer making only his second appearance in a UFC main event. For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Seattle, I’m going with a live dog in the main event. Let’s go!

MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Seattle
UFC Fight Night: Adesanya vs Pyfer (aka UFC Seattle)
Main Card Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Former two-time UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya has fallen on hard times, dropping three straight fights and four of five. He hasn’t won a fight since April 2023 and has been stopped in back-to-back fights. That’s the life of a 36-year-old fighter with plenty of miles on his odometer.
So there’s no way I’m betting on Adesanya as a favorite. Opponent Joe Pyfer is not only seven years younger than Adesanya, but he’s also the more dangerous fighter at this point, finishing two of his last three opponents. Add in his definitive grappling advantage in this matchup, and I love him at plus money.
