Kent State at Toledo

Start Time: 7:00 PM EST

Kent State enters this matchup with a 16-6 overall record and a 3-4 mark on the road. The Golden Flashes are 8-12 against the spread overall and 2-5 ATS on the road.

Toledo comes into this game with a 12-10 overall record and an 8-3 mark at home. The Rockets are 11-9 ATS overall and 4-5 ATS at home.

These two teams just played 18 days ago at Kent State. The Golden Flashes won by three, but failed to cover the 4.5-point spread. Kent State has dropped three of its last five on the road and has only covered once over that stretch. Toledo has covered seven of their last eight games, including three of their last four at home.

These two teams are still the same as they were 18 days ago. Kent State tries to score, get the ball back, and score again as quickly as possible. Toledo tries to score, but also makes an effort to play a semblance of defense. The Rockets are also still the better shooting team, and the better team at protecting the ball and turning over the opposition.

Kent State won a chippy game at home, and now it’s Toledo’s chance to return the favor. This game is on Toledo’s floor, and Kent State didn’t have a great shooting game at home against Toledo’s defense. Expect Kent State to struggle shooting on the road, and Toledo can do enough on offense to stay ahead. Lock up Toledo to win and cover the short spread.

Best Bet: Toledo -1.5

Valparaiso at Bradley

Start Time: 8:00 PM EST

Valparaiso comes into this game with an 11-11 overall record and a 2-7 mark on the road. The Crusaders are 15-6 ATS overall and 6-3 ATS on the road.

Bradley enters this matchup with a 15-8 overall record and a 10-2 mark at home. The Braves are 8-14 ATS overall and 4-7 ATS at home.

Bradley is 9-1 overall in their last 10 games against Valparaiso, but only 3-7 ATS against the Crusaders. Valparaiso has won three of its last four outright, but it’s covered nine of its last 10 games. Bradley has won four of their last five home games, but has only covered once over that stretch.

The handicap here is pretty simple. Valparaiso has been a spread darling this year, and Bradly has struggled to cover larger spreads.

Valparaiso isn’t great on offense, but they have a top-80 scoring defense in the country. The Crusaders do a great job of limiting possessions, while getting the most out of their offense when they have the ball. They grind on teams, and that matches the results. It’s hard for more athletic teams to pull away when their opponent stays in their face, defends well, and just does enough on offense to stay in the game.

Bradley will likely outscore the Crusaders, but this game will be an absolute grind that ends up as a two-possession game or less. Valparaiso is catching over three possessions here. The age-old TCE handicap of ‘too many points’ applies. Lock up Valparaiso to stay within the number.

Best Bet: Valparaiso +9.5

Little Rock at UT-Martin

Start Time: 8:30 PM EST

Little Rock enters this game with a 9-13 overall record and a 4-11 mark on the road. The Trojans are 8-12 ATS overall and 6-9 ATS on the road.

UT-Martin comes into this matchup with a 17-5 overall record and a 9-0 mark at home. The Skyhawks are 11-8 ATS overall and 3-3 ATS at home.

Little Rock has won seven out of nine matchups in this series. They’re also 5-3-1 ATS against UT-Martin all-time, but this is a very different Skyhawks team than last year. UT-Martin has won nine of its last 10 outright, and it’s covered six out of its last 10 games. Little Rock is about to play its fourth straight road game. They’ve lost three in a row and only covered once during their current road trip.

Little Rock has the better athletes, but UT-Martin has the superior team. The Skyhawks have a top-20 scoring defense in the nation, and they are really good at scoring on the inside. UT-Martin is 116th in the nation in shooting percentage on two-point shots. Little Rock is 300th in the nation in shooting percentage allowed on two-point shots. UT-Martin is also a much better rebounding team.

The Skyhawks are tough at home, Little Rock has to be a bit road weary, and UT-Martin has a clear advantage on both sides of the ball. Lock up UT-Martin to win and cover in a game that they should cruise to victory in.

Best Bet: UT-Martin -5.5
