UFC FIGHT NIGHT: ULBERG VS REYES (AKA UFC PERTH)
Start Time: 7:00 PM EST – (ESPN+)
Not surprisingly, considering UFC Fight Night: Ulberg vs Reyes is taking place in Perth, tomorrow’s fight card is very heavy on Aussie and Kiwi fighters. And, unintentionally, I’m in on the vast majority of them to win on Saturday, so it could be happy times for the home crowd.
One of those fighters is competiting in the light heavyweight co-main event, where Australia’s Jimmy Crute faces Croatia’s Ivan Erslan. Why Erslan is getting a co-main event spot, despite going 0-2 in the UFC, is unclear. Many fighters get cut from the promotion after dropping their first two fights.
Not only is Crute far more experienced in the UFC (5-4-2), he’s also five years younger, has a two-inch reach advantage, and is better than Erslan in both striking and grappling, a couple of things that are kinda important to winning mixed martial arts fights.
All of that makes Jimmy ‘The Crute’ Brute my best bet for Saturday.
