Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots Preview and Predictions

It’s a battle of 1-1 teams as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Aaron Rodgers head to Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Sunday. Drake Maye and the New England Patriots will play host in this game, with kickoff set for 1:00 PM ET on CBS. Let’s take a look at this Steelers at Patriots preview and predictions.

The Steelers are a team I was high on, as I am most seasons going into the year. Their offense looked amazing, and Aaron Rodgers looked 22 years old again in Week 1 against the Jets. Their defense, however, was very uncharacteristic of a Steelers defense. Week 2 was the same story for the defense, but this time the offense didn’t produce at the same level.

New England struggled in Week 1, hosting the Raiders. They just couldn’t quite get it figured out. Geno Smith threw the ball for 328 yards, but they bent, and didn’t break. Only giving up 20 points on the day. Week 2, they went down to Miami and got into a shootout. They matched the Dolphins strike for strike and came out on top in the end.

Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots Preview and Predictions

Rhamondre Stevenson Over 56.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-115)

I didn’t have the Steelers being one of the worst rushing defenses through two weeks on my 2025 bingo card, but here we are. The Steelers’ defense has straight-up looked like trash through two weeks. Breece Hall torched them for 107 yards in Week 1, while Justin Fields added 48 of his own yards. In Week 2, it was Ken Walker’s turn, dashing for 105 yards on just 13 carries against this lackluster defense.

Rhamondre Stevenson is getting a serve discount here because he shares the running back room with TreVeon Henderson. Walker and Hall also share those running back rooms with younger guys, but that didn’t stop them. Stevenson was quiet in Week 1 against a tough Raider defense. But looked explosive in Week 2, running for 54 yards against Miami and adding another 88 yards through the air. He may be able to get this all on the ground, but I think New England liked what they saw through the air last week, and they’ll keep dumping the ball off to Stevenson.

New England Patriots +2.5 (-115)

I went all in on the Steelers last week and got burned. How do you trust a team that lost to Sam Darnold and Mike Macdonald at home? Now they go on the road against a Patriots team that should be feeling pretty good after a strong win against a Miami team that played Buffalo strong on Thursday.

This should be another back-and-forth game, but Pittsburgh’s inability to close last week after almost blowing the Jets game in Week 1 means we have to ride with the home dog in Week 3. Give me the Patriots.
