MMA Regional Pick of the Week: Oktagon 76
Oktagon Bantamweight Fight: Clara Ricignuolo vs Alina Dalaslan
Card Start Time: Saturday (9/20), 12:00pm EST (Internet PPV)
On the main card of the Oktagon 76 card, there is a bantamweight bout between a pair of relatively inexperienced fighters. Clara Ricignuolo stands at 3-3 on her career. Standing across her is Alina Dalaslan, who has won each of her first two professional fights. The hype around Dalaslan is high though, with her standing as a -1000 favorite.
Despite that big number, I’m not swayed away from the underdog. While Clara Ricignuolo has had some time outside of the cage, all of the film on her inside looks like the type of fighter who could give Dalaslan trouble. She has fast hands and even traded with a solid fighter like Maria Djukic on the mat.
Meanwhile, Dalaslan has only traded with hand picked opponents. Those fighters have largely struggled on the feet and didn’t have much to do grappling wise. Although this is far from a sure thing, there is so much value on the underdog here that it is really worth a dabble.
