Two bitter rivals take the stage in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season as the 49ers travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Seahawks. San Francisco is looking to get back into the postseason conversation after missing the playoffs for the first time in three seasons last year. Seattle is looking to repeat their 2024 efforts which landed them tied with the Rams at the top of the NFC West. Our San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks Preview and Predictions will get you primed for this heated matchup.
Staying healthy has not been easy for San Francisco over the past few seasons. The 49ers have lost star running back Christian McCaffrey several times since he joined the team. Several key defenders including Nick Bosa and Dre Greenlaw have been forced to miss time due to injury. In fact, there is already concern that McCaffrey is dealing with a calf issue heading into the opening week. The big question this year is can head coach Mike Shanahan keep everyone on the field and get back to the Super Bowl.
Last year, the Seahawks came up just short of claiming their first divisional title since the 2020 season. Once again Geno Smith put up impressive numbers en route to a 10-7 record. Despite their record, the Hawks missed the playoffs due to a strong showing by the NFC last year. Seattle has brought in quarterback Sam Darnold this year fresh off of his impressive time under center for the Minnesota Vikings. The Seahawks are hoping he can guide them to a playoff appearance.

Ricky Pearsall Longest Reception Over 19.5 (-110 via DRAFTKINGS)
Pearsall logged a reception of at least 20 yards in 4 of his 11 appearances last season. He ended the season cashing this prop in each of his last three games. His quarterback, Brock Purdy, completed a pass of 20 yards or more in every one of his 15 games last year. In fact, Purdy has done this in every game he’s played going back to the 2023 season.

The talented receiver has been thrust into WR1 status to start the season. The 49ers sent Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders over the offseason and then lost Brandon Aiyuk to injury in the preseason. As such, the second year pass catcher should see a heavy workload this week.
Zach Charbonnet Under 30.5 Rushing Yards (-112 via DRAFTKINGS)
Charbonnet started six games for the Seahawks last season in relief of an injured Kenneth Walker III. However he did make an appearance in all 17 games. He was never able to reach 31 rushing yards in any game in which he and Walker were both on the field.
Seattle is excited to finally Walker III off the injury report and back on the field healthy to start the season. This will once again relegate Charbonnet to backup status and will make the path to 31 rushing yards tough.
