Two teams in desperate need of a turnaround compete in a Week 1 matchup that should have plenty of interesting moments. Tua Tagovailoa is hoping to stay healthy enough to help his Dolphins compete with the Buffalo Bills for the AFC East title. Indianapolis has brought in Daniel Jones to help them chase down the Houston Texans in the AFC South. Our Miami Dolphins at Indianapolis Colts Preview and Predictions will get you reacquainted with these AFC competitors.
Miami has watched the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills dominate the AFC East for almost 20 years. As much as they have tried to close the gap, they have yet to claim the top spot in the division since the 2009 season. Last year, they had to settle for an 8-9 record in large part due to an early injury to Tagovailoa. The Dolphins will need to stay healthy all year to even stay competitive this season.
Indianapolis pinned its hopes on quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. two seasons ago to help elevate their offense. Unfortunately, that experiment has yet to pay off as the former Florida standout has yet to play a full season in his two year stint. To that end, the Colts secured the services of long-time N.Y. Giants quarterback Daniel Jones to turn things around. Indianapolis was only a couple of games away from an AFC South title last season. They’d like for Jones to help them claim that honor this season.

Daniel Jones Under 211.5 Passing Yards (-115 via BETMGM)
Jones enters his duty as the Indianapolis signal caller with a career average of 208.3 passing yards per game in New York. The veteran arm exceeded this prop total in only four of his ten appearances last year with the Giants. In fact, Jones has only nine games with at least 212 passing yards since the 2022 season.

Last season, Colts quarterbacks only managed six games in which they threw for at least 212 yards. Richardson accounted for two while Joe Flacco made up the rest.
This week, the Colts face one of the top passing defenses in the league. Miami’s defense allowed the tenth fewest passing yards per game last season. Opposing quarterbacks averaged just 210.7 yards per game against them. That number improved to 203.6 on the road.
De’Von Achane Over 59.9 Rushing Yards (-110 via CAESARS)
Achane has averaged a total of 60.9 rushing yards per game over his two seasons in Miami. The young back has registered 12 games with at least 60 yards on the ground in his 28-game career. He ended last season by going over 100 yards in two of his last three games.
He’s set to take on a Colts defense that allowed 129.5 rushing yards at home last year. Overall, they allowed opposing teams to gain 131.8 yards on the ground against them.
