Division rivals clash in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season. We get you set for the game with our Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons Preview and Predictions. The Bucs are hoping to continue their reign at the top of the NFC South. Meanwhile, the Falcons are optimistic their new-look offense can give their division foes a run for the money this year.
Tampa Bay ended its 2025 campaign by earning its fourth NFC South crown in as many seasons. The Buccaneers finished the year with a 4-2 record against the division. Their quest for a fifth-straight NFC South title looks promising as many of their core squad from last season are set to return. This includes quarterback Baker Mayfield who has turned his career around over his last two seasons in Tampa Bay.
Atlanta’s quarterback situation has been the center of controversy this offseason. Veteran signal caller Kirk Cousins remains on the roster in spite of Michael Penix Jr. taking his spot as the starting quarterback. The Falcons are looking to their second-year arm to improve on last season’s 8-9 effort and get them back in the playoff conversation.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons Preview and Predictions
Atlanta +2 (-110 via CAESARS)
For as dominant as the Buccaneers have been in their division over the last few years, the Falcons have been a thorn in their side. Atlanta has beaten Tampa Bay outright in four of its last five matchups. Kirk Cousins helped the Falcons sweep the Bucs last year. Those two losses represented the only two blemishes for Tampa Bay inside the division last season.
Desmond Ridder was able to win two of his three career matchups against the Buccaneers spanning the 2022 and 2023 seasons. That alone should give you the courage to take the Falcons to cover the spread this week even with their young quarterback under center.
Bijan Robinson Under 78.5 Rushing Yards (-112 via DRAFTKINGS)
At face value, this may seem like a slam dunk for the over given Robinson rushed for 1,456 yards last season while averaging 85.6 yards per game last season. However, he is facing a Tampa Bay defense that allowed the third-fewest rushing yards per game (96.9) last year. The Bucs were even more stingy on the road, surrendering just 79.3 yards per game away from Raymond James Stadium.

Only four running backs were able to gain at least 79 rushing yards against Tampa Bay last season. Among them were Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry. No running back breached this threshold over the final eight regular season games as well as their playoff appearance against the Washington Commanders.
Robinson has yet to reach this prop total in any of his four career starts against the Bucs. He posted his highest total against them last season gaining 63 yards on 13 carries last October.
