Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns Preview and Predictions

The battle for bragging rights in Ohio takes center stage this Sunday. Our Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns Preview and Predictions get you ready for this Week 1 matchup. The Bengals come into this year reloaded and ready for redemption after a disappointing 2024 effort. Meanwhile, the Browns are hoping to find a way to pick themselves up off of the AFC North scrap heap.

Cincinnati enters the 2025 season after finishing last year with a 9-8 record. Even with outstanding individual efforts by their key players, the Bengals were unable to translate them into team wins. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase aim to make their offense one of the most feared units in the league again this season. They will need their defense to step up as well and improve on a year in which the squad ranked in the bottom third of the league.

Cleveland managed to earn a second place finish in the AFC North two seasons ago. That joy was short-lived as the Browns sank to 3-14 last year and returned to the bottom of the divisional standings. Now, Joe Flacco makes his triumphant return to Cleveland hoping to turn the ship around one more time.

Cincinnati -5.5 (-105 via BETMGM)

The Bengals have beaten the Browns in four of their five head to head matchups going back to the 2022 season. Cleveland hasn’t even scored more than two touchdowns in those four losses. Sure, Joe Flacco will start under center for the Browns, but temper any expectations of a Cleveland victory this week. The veteran signal caller has a career record of 9-12 against the Bengals. He has not earned a win against Cincinnati since Week 1 of the 2017 season.

Cincinnati has covered this spread in four of their last five contests against Cleveland. In fact, the Bengals have a 14 point average margin of victory against the Browns in their last three meetings.

Grant Delpit Under 6.5 Tackles + Assists (+102 via DRAFTKINGS)

Delpit led the Browns with 68 solo tackles last season. The Cleveland safety also led the team with 111 total tackles in his 2024 campaign. Despite his success, he only managed to clear this prop total in 8 of his 16 appearances last year. He failed to reach this mark in either of his two contests against the Bengals last season. In fact, Delpit has gone over this prop once in his seven career games versus Cincinnati.
