Best Bet For Monday (September 1st): US Open Predictions
Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Andrey Rublev
Start Time: 11:30 AM EST
I hit my Round 4 bet on the women’s side of the draw; now I’m trying my luck on the men’s side for the fourth round. And, in the process, I’m betraying my country and picking a Russian over a Canadian. But you’ve got to bet with your head and not your heart.
And the Russian, Andrey Rublev, has the Canadian, Felix Auger-Aliassime’s, number. The two combatants have already faced each other eight times in their careers, including twice this year. And Rublev has dominated these meetings, winning seven of eight, including five straight.
Most important, perhaps, for tomorrow’s matchup is the surface it’s being played on – hard court. Rublev is much better on the surface, winning both of their outdoor hard court matches (and two of three indoor ones), and has a superior career winning percentage on the surface (66% vs 58%).
