Allow us to introduce our Degens Only Play of the Day, a pick so obscure, it will have your friends questioning your sanity.
Every day, we scour sportsbooks and DFS sites for that one special play off the beaten path. Today, we turn our attention to the Handball Bundesliga as it kicks off its 60th season. Here we find a matchup between two teams hoping to start the year with a win to start off the new season.

Gummersbach finished its 2024 season seventh place in the standings, just one spot short of qualifying to play in the EHF European League. However, the squad did finish the season strong, winning five of their final six matches of the year. They are also entering this season with some momentum having finished 2-0 in group play of the Tournament of Champions earlier this month. They unfortunately lost to Veszprém in a tightly contested 27-25 finals match.

Burgdorf ended last season ranked six on the ladder occupying the final qualifying spot for the EHL European League. The team was lucky to hold on to that spot as they stumbled through the final stretch of the season going winless in their final six matches. In fact, they picked up just two wins in their last 10 outings of last season.
These teams met twice last season in the Bundesliga with Gummersbach walking off the court with the win in both. Hard Rock has Gummersbach +0.5 at +130 which is another interesting bet here on top of the outright.
