Best Bet For Friday (August 22nd): MLB Predictions
St Louis Cardinals vs Tampa Bay Rays
Start Time: 7:35 PM EST
After improbably being a strong team once again this season, the train has gone off the track a bit for the Tampa Bay Rays of late. Posting records of 4-6, 7-13, and 11-19 over their last 10, 20, and 30 games, respectively, have basically sunk the Rays’ playoff chances for this season (they’re projected to have a 5.1% chance at seeing postseason action).
But at least the St. Louis Cardinals are in town for a three-game interleague series. The Cardinals are pretty much having the same level of success this season as the Rays. The difference in this series is that the games are being played in Tampa, where the Rays are 32-32, while the Cards are only 28-35 on the road.
Add in the fact that Tampa has the better starting pitcher tomorrow (Adrian Houser vs Miles Mikolas), and the Rays on the moneyline becomes my best bet for Friday.
