One-time All-Star Josh Naylor is only in his seventh season in the big leagues, but he’s already on to his fourth team. He was one of the Seattle Mariners’ big pickups around this year’s trade deadline, and he hasn’t disappointed his new employer.
Naylor already has four dingers in just 15 games in his new uniform, and an OPS+ of 167, the highest mark of his career. This includes a home run in his last game on Sunday. And I expect him to have another strong performance at the plate on Tuesday as the Mariners head to Baltimore to start a three-game series against the Orioles.
That’s because Dean Kremer is starting for the Baltimore Orioles tomorrow, and Naylor eats off of Kremer’s pitching. In 11 career plate appearances facing the righty (small sample size, I know), Naylor is slashing .667/.636/1.111. Plus, Kremer is coming off three straight mediocre starts.
