After two weekends of UFC Apex slop (they turned out to be fun fight cards, to be fair), it’s pay-per-view time this coming weekend in the UFC. UFC 319 goes down from Chicago’s United Center on Saturday, with the UFC Middleweight Championship on the line in the main event. For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC 319, I’ve got a winning play for a welterweight fight. Let’s go!

UFC 319: Du Plessis vs Chimaev
Main Card Start Time: Saturday – 10:00 PM EST – (PPV)
Third from the top on Saturday night sees UFC veteran Geoff Neal take on relative newcomer (to the UFC – he’s very experienced outside the octagon) Carlos Prates. And I’m going with the Brazilian, Prates, to turn back the veteran.
I don’t have much faith in Neal at this point in his career. His lone victory since 2022 was his last fight, where his opponent, Rafael dos Anjos, blew out his knee early in the fight. Meanwhile, outside of a tough decision loss to top prospect Ian Machado Garry in his last fight, Prates has been knocking out everyone put in front of him.
