And, with tomorrow being Saturday, it means I can make a bet on the sport I’m most knowledgeable in, MMA. Best Bet For Saturday (August 2nd): UFC Predictions
UFC Fight Night: Taira vs Park (aka UFC Vegas 108)
Start Time: Saturday – 6:00 PM EST – (ESPN/ESPN+)
UFC Fight Nights held at the UFC Apex usually equals blech, but tomorrow’s fight card has at least some names that people will know (although half of the hastily arranged main event is pretty much an unknown). One of those names is probably Mateusz Rebecki, who is fighting Chris Duncan in the lightweight co-main event.
‘Rebeasti’ has amassed a 20-2 record in pro MMA, including going 4-1 in the UFC, yet he seems to be flying under the radar still. He’s also an all-around finisher, with nine knockouts and seven submissions. While Duncan is a brawler who has recently added submissions skills to his quiver, I think Rebecki can use his strong wrestling and grappling to earn the W over Duncan tomorrow night. But he’s got to be careful.
