The UFC heads back to their home inside of the Apex in Las Vegas this weekend. Saturday will mark UFC Vegas 108, which is currently in limbo in terms of a main event. Previously scheduled to be Amir Albazi and Tatsuro Taira, that bout was scratched and we await a new main event. Despite the uncertainty up top, the UFC Vegas 108 card is loaded up with incredible fights with some great spots to look for some high-value MMA bets, picks, and predictions.

Prelim Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 108
UFC Strawweight Fight: Piera Rodriguez vs Ketlen Souza
Start Time: Saturday (8/2) 6:00pm EST (ESPN+)
In the opening fight this weekend, I like the underdog Ketlen Souza to pull off the upset.
The main reason I like her here is just how quick her hands are. She really showed off how devestating that could be when she fought in the Sphere against Yazmin Jauregui. Despite the younger opponent, she was the one landing the quick shots, including one that dropped Jauregui. In her most recent fight, she kept right up with the pace of Angela Hill, which is not an easy task.
On the other side, Rodriguez’s does seem to have a wrestling advantage. She shoots a load of takedowns and scores with them in nearly every fight. However, if you look at her recent fights, she’s not getting much top control time out of each of those takedowns. This was clear in her fight with Sam Hughes. She compiled five takedowns, but less than two minutes of control time.
As long as Souza keeps working back to her feet, she’ll be the one doing the bulk of the damage. That should lead her to a win here.
