Toronto Blue Jays vs Baltimore Orioles
Start Time: 6:35 PM EST
While I’m picking the visiting Toronto Blue Jays, improbably the best team in baseball currently, to beat the woeful Baltimore Orioles to kick off their four-game American League East series tomorrow, I’m picking an Oriole for my prop play. And I’m fading Toronto’s starting pitcher tomorrow, Chris Bassitt, who I still expect to pitch a strong game.
But he’s not going to pitch a strong game to Baltimore first baseman Ryan O’Hearn. That’s because O’Hearn has Bassitt’s number. Over 15 career plate appearances facing Bassitt, O’Hearn is slashing .539/.600/.849. Pretty strong numbers, wouldn’t you say?
O’Hearn is coming off a two-hit game in his last taste of action (Saturday), and leads the Orioles in OBP. Needless to say, I like him to touch some bases on offense tomorrow for us and cash this bet.
