WNBA Predictions & Preview For Friday, July 17th (3-Point Contest)

Major League Baseball isn’t the only league that has a Midsummer Classic – the WNBA’s All-Star Weekend tips off tomorrow in the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Unfortunately for the home fans and the league in general, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is injured again and will not be suiting up this weekend. Here are your WNBA predictions and preview for Friday, July 18th.

WNBA Predictions & Preview For Friday, July 18th

2025 WNBA STARRY® 3-POINT CONTEST

Start Time: 8:00 PM EST

So, no Caitlin Clark in the 3-Point Contest this year, so don’t bet on her. Here are the remaining four participants tomorrow:

Sonia Citron – Washington Mystics

Allisha Gray – Atlanta Dream

Sabrina Ionescu – New York Liberty

Kelsey Plum – Los Angeles Sparks

Atlanta’s Allisha Gray had a dream (ahem) All-Star Weekend in 2024, winning both the skills and 3-point contests. While I don’t really have a read on the skills comp, I do like Gray to repeat in the Starry 3-Point Contest tomorrow night.

Gray is having a better shooting season this year for the Dream than last year, hitting 2.3 threes per game at a .389 clip, the second-best three-point shooting percentage of her career. And the only other participant in tomorrow’s contest that has hit more threes this season than Gray is Kelsey Plum.

But I mostly like this play because we’re inexplicably getting Gray at the second-longest odds, only ahead of rookie Sonia Citron.

Best Bet: Allisha Gray to win 3-Point Contest (+360)

Overall Record: 24-32 (43%)
Profit (based on $100/bet): -($995.13)
Return on Investment: -18%
