Thanks to the Bulls not only covering, but winning as underdogs, we not have a three-day winning streak in the Summer League. There is no rest for the wicked though and we’ve got 16 teams in action again. We’ve dug through all of the action for Thursday’s games to get you a winner. Here’s my NBA Summer League prediction and best bet for Thursday, July 17th.
NBA Summer League Predictions & Preview For July 17th
Houston Rockets vs Portland Trail Blazers
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
The Blazers stroll into Thursday’s action on the heels of a 6-point win over the Pelicans. Unlike their foe for this one, the Pelicans have a number of players who not only have NBA experience, but have some starts under their belt too. Meanwhile, the Rockets are being led by a G-League and Chinese League player in Adonis Arms. Perhaps that’s why the Rockets are still winless in the Vegas Summer League.
Right away, Portland looks to have an easier game in this one, which might be enough to like their line here. However, it’s also important to note how good they’ve looked in Summer League. Many people mocked the draft pick of Yang Hansen, but he looks to have some real skills all over the court. They’re also getting serious production out of Rayan Rupert, who has started 12 games for the big club already.
With the experience and the roll they are on, you have to be all over the Trail Blazers only giving up 5.5.
Best Bet: Trail Blazers -5.5 (-115)
