2025 T-MOBILE HOME RUN DERBY

Is the MLB Home Run Derby going the way of the NBA’s Slam Dunk Contest? The dunk contest has been going downhill for years due to the lack of big-name talent participating in it. This year’s home run contest is bereft of former champions as well as big-time names. No Judge. No Ohtani. No Soto. No Vladdy.
Maybe a player can elevate himself with a big performance at the plate tomorrow. And I’m betting (hoping) that this player will be a non-American. No offense to the Americans in the event, but the value seems to be on the international participants.
That trio would be Junior Caminero and Oneil Cruz of the Dominican Republic, and Jazz Chisholm Jr from the Bahamas. While the first two are the longest long shots in the event, Cruz is our best bet, as he’s the second shortest to win after Cal Raleigh.
After crunching the numbers, the international trio has a 40% chance of winning, and we’re getting better odds than that.
