Sitting at 59-34, the Detroit Tigers continue to be the best team in the majors. And they’ve been helped to this hot start in no small part by the fifth overall pick in the 2019 draft, Riley Greene. Now a two-time All-Star, Greene leads the team in home runs and RBIs. The 24-year-old finished last season with 24 homers and 74 RBIs; he’s already at 22 and 72 this season in 90 games.
And I like Greene’s chances to add to those totals tomorrow against the Tampa Bay Rays. That’s because the Rays are starting Zack Littell on the mound on Wednesday. Littell is having a perfectly fine season – in fact, his WHIP is 12th best in the majors. However, Greene has his number. The Tigers’ slugger hit him up for a double and a single when he faced him earlier this season, and in 10 career plate appearances against Littell, Greene is slashing .556/.600/.778.
