WNBA Predictions & Preview For Thursday, July 3rd
Phoenix Mercury vs Dallas Wings
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Dallas has been far from good during this season. Their 5-13 mark puts them only ahead of the Connecticut Sun in the standings. However, they have shown some signs of life lately. They’ve won two out of their last three and four out of their last six.
A big part of that has been the play of Paige Bueckers. Despite only averaging 18.4 on the year, she’s scored 20 or better in four of her last five. That scoring should come in handy against this tough Mercury squad. Even though the game clearly favors Phoenix, I don’t think they’ll cover the 12.5 the books are putting up.
For one, Dallas rarely loses by that much. They’ve kept it within that range in 10 of their 13 losses. Phoenix also isn’t blowing teams out all that often. They’ve won by 13 in just 3 of their wins this season. As a result, let’s take the home underdogs to cover here.
