My first day subbing in for the usual writer of this column, Jeff Fox, was a success. We faded MacKenzie Gore at plus-money and cashed. We’ll look to keep that momentum on the ball field going. For my SGPN Prop Bet for Thursday (July 3rd): MLB Prop Play, we head down south. Come check out what we cooked up for one of our favoirte MLB picks.
SGPN Prop Bet for Thursday (July 3rd): MLB Prop Play
Los Angeles Angels vs Atlanta Braves
Start Time: 7:15 PM EST
Bryce Elder hasn’t exactly been setting the world on fire lately. He’s actually been hit around quite a bit in his last three. The worst of those performances came last game against the Phillies, where he served up ten runs (nine earned). However, I think this is the perfect get right game for him.
If you look at the five games prior to the three-game skid, he was mowing batters over. In that span, he averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game, which includes a 12 strikeout game against the Giants.
There might not be many better teams to get right against than the Angels right now. They fanned 12 times on Wednesday against the Braves with 20-year old rookie, Didier Fuentes, on the bump to start. Elder is much more of a seasoned veteran and should be able to exploit their recent issues with strikeouts. Plus, his recent performances have moved the line down nicely for us.
Best Bet Prop Play: Bryce Elder Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-105)
Daily Prop Overall Record: 12-17 (41%)
Profit (based on $100/bet): -($440.38)
Return on Investment: -15%
