Best Bet For Thursday (June 26th): MLB Prediction
Athletics vs Detroit Tigers
Start Time: 1:10 PM EST
The Detroit Tigers remain the best team in the majors, and the (don’t say Sacramento) Athletics one of the worst, but that didn’t stop the A’s from blanking the Tigers 3-0 in Motown on Wednesday. With Detroit winning the first game of this series, the rubber match goes down tomorrow.
A benefit of the Tigers losing on Wednesday is that it probably contributed to a playable line for tomorrow afternoon’s game. Another factor is that the Tigers are starting Dietrich Enns, who hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2021 (but was good in Triple-A this season).
It probably doesn’t matter who is on the bump tomorrow for the home team – the Tigers aren’t losing back-to-back home games to a team at the Athletics level. Detroit has only lost consecutive home games three times this season, all to teams better than the A’s (because, basically, everyone is better than the A’s).
Crunching the numbers, Detroit is projected to be a whopping three runs better than the Athletics tomorrow. The Tigers on the moneyline is my best bet for Thursday.
