I whiffed on a strikeout prop bet on Tuesday (pun intended), but I’m going back to that well again tomorrow, anyhow. That’s because tomorrow is Paul Skenes Day.
Tomorrow’s Pittsburgh Pirates vs the Milwaukee Brewers game holds even more intrigue because Skenes’s counterpart on the mound for the Brewers is another 23-year-old pitching phenom, Jacob Misiorowski, who is 2-0 with 11 strikeouts in his first two major league starts.
But this isn’t about The Miz – my bet is on the more proven commodity, Skenes. The tall righty has already faced the Brewers this season, striking out eight in six innings of work (he naturally didn’t get the win). And he’s coming off a nine-punchout game against the Detroit Tigers in his most recent start.
So you see where I’m headed with this. My prop bet for Wednesday is Paul Skenes over 7.5 strikeouts.
