New York Yankees vs Cincinnati Reds
Start Time: 7:10 PM EST
Yet another New York Yankees’ starting pitcher has hit the injured list, as tomorrow’s scheduled starter, Ryan Yarbrough, has an injured oblique. In steps Allan Winans, who has been tearing up the minors this season.
But it doesn’t seem to matter much who is suiting up in the pinstripes this season – the Yankees are winning anyhow. And it also doesn’t matter that tomrorow’s game is on enemy turf in Cincinnati, as New York is 21-16 away from the Bronx.
This isn’t to discount the Reds, as they are having a successful season by their recent standards, going 40-38 thus far, including a 20-17 mark at the Great American Ballpark. But when you crunch the advanced stats and fold in the home field advantage, the Yankees are still about a run better than the Reds tomorrow.
New York on the moneyline is my best bet to kick off the week.
