As improbable as it seemed heading into the NBA Finals, we’re getting a Game 7 tomorrow night. Someone will be hoisting the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy over their heads on Sunday night to conclude the 2024/25 NBA season. Here are your NBA predictions and preview for Sunday, June 22nd.
NBA Predictions & Preview For Sunday, June 22nd (NBA Finals Game 7)
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Indiana Pacers
Start Time – 8:30 PM EST
I am now 1-5 on my plays for this year’s NBA Finals, so this series has gone on far too long for my liking. But, seriously, c’mon – the Indiana Pacers aren’t really going to pull this off, are they?! Seriously outgunned versus the seemingly unstoppable Oklahoma City Thunder, winners of 83 of the 104 regular-season and playoff games they’ve played this season, the Pacers have forced a Game 7.
With their star Tyrese Haliburton seriously compromised with a strained calf, no less. Are the Thunder, with the league’s MVP in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and one of the league’s best co-stars in Jalen Williams, really going to cough this up, on their home floor no less?!
I’m guessing no. Or, at least, I’m hoping no, since I’m picking Oklahoma City to win on Sunday. The Thunder have lost a total of eight games at the Paycom Center this season, including only two in the playoffs. One of those playoff losses was a one-point loss to the Pacers in Game 1 of the Finals. The visitors aren’t stealing another tomorrow night.
All three of OKC’s wins this series have come by more points than the spread we’re getting for Game 7, so the Thunder will cover for us on Sunday, and we’ll kiss the season goodbye with a winning bet.
