The UFC will make its debut in Baku, Azerbaijan, tomorrow afternoon, human rights be damned (money talks). And I’ve zeroed in on a heavyweight tilt third from the top for a winning prop play.
Curtis Blaydes has been near the top of the UFC’s heavyweight division for years and years now, yet he’s being matched up, inexplicably, with a newcomer on Saturday. Rizvan Kuniev was so unimpressive that it took two appearances on Dana White’s Contender Series to get signed, and he physically hasn’t looked good since serving a lengthy drug suspension.
So I expect Blaydes to do what he does to all opponents outside of the tippy top of the sport – take his opponent down and grind him out on the mat. And if ‘Razor’ instead knocks out Kuniev on the feet, that’s just as good since I’m taking a T/KO prop.
