And then there were seven. With the shocking elimination of the Eastern Conference’s best team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, on Tuesday, we’re down to our final seven teams in the battle for the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy. Here are your NBA predictions and preview for Wednesday, May 14th.
NBA Predictions & Preview For Wednesday, May 14th
New York Knicks vs Boston Celtics
Start Time – 7:00 PM EST
Perhaps about to join the Cavaliers in Cancun is the second-best team in the East, and the defending NBA Champions, the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are down 3-1 to the New York Knicks, and their best player, Jayson Tatum, tore his Achilles tendon last game.
Yet we find Boston as a favorite tomorrow at home against the Knicks. Hmmm. I’m not buying it. New York has been taking it to Boston this series, and that was with a healthy Tatum. The Knicks at least cover the spread tomorrow for us if not outright end the series.
Best Bet: New York +4.5 (-105)
Golden State Warriors vs Minnesota Timberwolves
Start Time – 9:30 PM EST
The Golden State Warriors are in the exact same situation as the Boston Celtics – they are down 3-1 in their second-round series, and down their best player, Stephen Curry. But, even worse, they are on the road.
And the Warriors don’t find themselves the favorite at the books, either. But I also don’t think the Wolves should be this big of a favorite on the spread, so I’m betting on Golden State to at least keep it close for us.
Best Bet: Golden State +11 (-107)
Overall Record: 187-155 (55%)
Profit (based on $100/bet): $1,585.19
Return on Investment: 5%
