After four straight “road” events and six of the last seven away from home, the UFC’s home arena, the UFC Apex, hosts a UFC Fight Night this Saturday night. And oh boy, is this card a textbook example of what is being called “UFC Apex slop”. But we’ll make money on it, regardless. MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 106
UFC Fight Night: Burns vs Morales (AKA UFC Vegas 106)
Start Time: 4:00 PM EST (ESPN+)
I need to borrow a dog pick because this fight card on Saturday is a chalky as they come in my eyes, as I’ve inadvertently not picked any underdogs (the one I was in on has since flipped to the favorite). So I’m going with one of Gumby’s dogs that I like the best, and that would be Dustin Stoltzfus.
Stoltzfus is up against Nursulton Ruziboev in a middleweight main card fight. And while I think Ruziboev is the better fighter, he’s also overrated and overvalued in this fight. All the analytics I use to help pick winners points to Stoltzfus as the winner here – better striking and grappling stats, for instance – so let’s listen to the numbers and hit a big live dog on Saturday.
