While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. So we’ve decided to dig into some each week to get you started on your regional MMA journey. This week we head north of the border for Samourai MMA 14 from Montreal, Quebec, Canada for our regional MMA pick.

MMA Regional Pick of the Week: Samourai MMA 14
Samourai MMA FLyweight Fight: Louis Jourdain vs Danilo Adreani
Card Start Time: Friday (5/9), 7:00am EST (UFC Fight Pass)
This flyweight bout, which will take place in front of Dana White and the UFC matchmakers, will pit two very different styles. Jourdain is mostly a boxer. In fact, he took a break from MMA to just box for awhile and was very successful doing so. Adreani, on the other hand, is a wrestler-grappler with a load of submissions.
The difference-maker for me is that Jourdain is much more suited to go into Adreani’s realm than the other way around. He’s adept at submissions and has shown some solid top control over the years. I also prefer the level of competition he’s faced over his opponent.
As a result, I like Jourdain as a slight favorite here to impress the UFC brass and pick up the ‘W’.
