While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. MMA Regional Pick of the Week: 2025 PFL First Round 1
PFL Welterweight Fight: Giannis Bachar vs Masayuki Kikuiri
Card Start Time: Thursday (4/3), 8:00pm EST (ESPN+)
Giannis Bachar comes into the PFL tournament as an underdog and I’m not sure that I understand why. Sure, he did get knocked out in his fight in the Ultimate Fighter house, but I’m not off of his potential due to that one unlucky elbow.
Bachar is a guy who has always been a guy who has relied on his power. He was a Cage Warriors champion, beating Carlo Pedersoli and Omeil Brown with devestating KOs. The most impressive part of his power is that he doesn’t need to be moving forward to access it. His KO of Brown was while backpedaling against the cage.
Now, he’ll get a favorable matchup in Masayuki Kikuiri, who loves to stand and trade. While he has some knockouts to his name as well, he is much less sound when it comes to defensive striking. With that being the case, I love th dog money on Bachar here.
