While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. So we’ve decided to dig into some each week to get you started on your regional MMA journey. This week, we stay domestic for Fury FC 100 from Houston, TX for our regional MMA pick.

MMA Regional Pick of the Week: Fury FC 100
Fury FC Welterweight Fight: Shimon Smotritsky vs Sam Kilmer
Card Start Time: Sunday (1/12), 2:30pm EST (UFC Fight Pass)
Sam Kilmer looked like a man possessed last time out. He came in against as a sizable underdog in a fight with UFC veteran Josh Quinlan and immediately took him down. After working for a while, he snagged a rear naked choke and his place in the fight for this vacant title.
I see not reason to not trust that he’ll do that again here. Shimon Smotritsky is likely a better striker, but relies heavily on kicks. Kilmer has been known to catch kicks and turn them into offense for himself. Additionally, we saw Smotritsky get submitted quick on Dana White’s Contender Series, so we know that’s an avenue for Kilmer as well.
With all of that, we still see Kilmer with a plus next to his name, which seems all too easy for me.
