Prelim Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 120
UFC Flyweight Fight: Juliana Miller vs Revena Oliveira
Start Time: Saturday (8/8) 5:00pm EST (Paramount+)
This card in the Apex features plenty of fighters who are badly in need of some UFC success. Two of them square off in this fight. Juliana Miller is just 1-3 since winning the Ultimate Fighter crown and now sits with a professional record of 4-4. Ravena Oliveira entered the organization with a 7-1-1 record, but has quickly dropped three straight with the last two coming inside the distance. It’s clear that these two women may be fighting for their jobs on Saturday.
The one who I think does enough to keep her job is Juliana Miller. Some might think we’re paying a premium for someone with such a poor record, but the results don’t really match the performances. She had Carli Judice’s back in that fight and was close to finishing it herself. Additionally, she had moments of success grappling with Veronica Hardy as well.
The same bright spots aren’t really there for Oliveira. She has looked particularly outmatched in most of her fights, and a lot of it is due to physicality. Now she’ll be up in weight and facing yet another dangerous grappler. I expect Miller to not only get this done, but get this done quick.
