For my best bet for Wednesday, January 1st: College Football Predictions, we’re off to “The Granddaddy of Them All”, the Rose Bowl, in Pasadena, California for a College Football Playoffs Quarterfinals rematch between the nation’s top two teams.

Ohio State Buckeyes vs Oregon State Ducks

As mentioned, the Rose Bowl is hosting a rare college football rematch tomorrow, as the #8 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes try to avenge their one-point loss to the #1 Oregon Ducks in Week 6. The winner punches their ticket to the Cotton Bowl and the College Football Playoff Semifinals on January 10th and a date with the winner of tomorrow’s Arizona State vs Texas game.
Considering the Buckeyes kept the score within a point on enemy turf in Eugene, Oregon in October, I like their chances tomorrow at a neutral site. Diving into the advanced stats (point differential, strength of schedule, etc), Ohio State should be favored tomorrow by a couple of points, so the Buckeyes on the spread is my best bet
