The Czech Republic promotion Oktagon – one of Europe’s top promotions – runs an event this Sunday in Prague with their lightweight championship (and a million euros) on the line in the main event, plus a stacked undercard. My underdog pick of the week is a very slight dog – this fight is almost a pick ’em on the boards – and it’s coming from a bantamweight fight fourth from the top. And I’m fading a former UFC fighter in it.
The pick is Jonas Magard to beat Igor Severino. Severino famously got disqualified – and fired – in his only UFC fight after biting his opponent, which makes you question his mental makeup when the going gets tough. And Magard will make the going tough for him, as he’s better on the feet and a very strong wrestler.
