Carolina Panthers at Denver Broncos Preview and Predictions

Carolina Panthers at Denver Broncos Preview and Predictions

The Carolina Panthers head to Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday afternoon to face off with Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos. The Broncos are favored by 10 points, even with a rookie at the helm. This game will kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS. Let’s dive in and take a look at the Panthers-Broncos preview and predictions.

Carolina comes in with a record of just 1-6 through the first seven weeks of the season. Quarterback Andy Dalton sprained his thumb in a car wreck earlier this week. He is listed as doubtful for this game, meaning the Carolina Panthers will once again turn the keys to the offense over to Bryce Young, who was benched earlier this season.

Rumors are also flying that Diontae Johnson may soon be on his way out of town, and now he’s been ruled out with a rib injury. His wide receiver running mate Adam Thielen could have returned from the IR this week but he’s also been ruled out.

Denver comes in winners of four of their last five games after an 0-2 start to the season. The Broncos team’s injury report is pretty quiet as Patrick Surtain has returned from the concussion protocol. Wide receiver Josh Reynolds was shot last week, and won’t be available for the team.

Javonte Williams Over 64.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

I’m not sure there’s a prop I like more this weekend than this one. The Panthers are a dumpster fire, that’s now missing their quarterback, and both good wide receivers. Denver is going to be up in this game, and big time. Javonte has looked good over the last few games, breaking the 60-yard mark in three of the last four games.

Carolina’s rushing defense is the worst in the league allowing an average of 162.1 yards per game. I fully expect Williams to eat this week.

Denver Broncos -10 (-135)

Bo Nix as a 10-point favorite is a little bit scary. But the Broncos are rolling right now and Carolina just can’t be trusted. Denver has the elevation home-field advantage and they are 5-2 ATS on the season. Carolina, despite being big underdogs every week, are only 1-6 ATS. Don’t let the big number scare off you a solid quarterback and good coach this week.
