Another year of high hopes for The NFC West. Four out of the last six Super Bowls have had a representative from this conference. Sadly for them, only one of those NFC West teams got across the line and won a Super Bowl. Will 2025 be different? Will we see another NFC West team follow the path of The 2022 Rams? Hopefully, some of those questions can be answered below. Below, we will take a look at each team’s outlook ahead of the 2024–2025 season and pick a winner. Here is the 2024 NFC West Preview.

2024 NFC West Preview
Arizona Cardinals (o/u 6.5 Wins)
Year two of the “Gannon Era” in Arizona. (Thankfully, there is no relation). Arizona was truly a frisky team in 2023. They showed a ton of heart and lost some close games while being around 75% healthy all year. That said, there is nowhere to go but up for the Cardinals. Losing JJ Watt, Rondale Moore, and Marquise Brown is meaningless to me.
None of them won games for this team, which could be addition by subtraction. Kyler Murray is in for a big year and is always an electric factory when healthy. Throw in the addition of Marvin Harrison Jr., and I can see this offense winning some games for them.

San Francisco 49ers (o/u 11.5 Wins)
How much longer can Brock Purdy right the ship? Can Christian McCaffrey avoid the injuries? Personally, I believe it will be a disappointing season for San Francisco fans by their lofty standards. I do not believe in Purdy’s ability to lead this team to success yet again, and I am sure the rest of the league and division have figured him out.
What concerns me a tad more than the offense is the defense. Although they bring in Leonard Floyd and Maliek Collins, they lose some key names in Arik Armstead, Javon Kinlaw, and Chase Young. The defense is this team’s strength. Losing those names feels like a punch in the gut, and I do not see them 100% recovering from it.

Seattle Seahawks (o/u 7.5 Wins)
The Pete Carroll era in Seattle is over—a massive shoutout to Coach Carroll for overachieving throughout his entire career. I am not too high on Seattle heading into the season, and I do not believe anyone is. Geno Smith returns to lead the offense. He will be more than competent, but we cannot trust him to win a ton of games in this league.
Defensively, losing Bobby Wagner, Jamal Adams, and Quandre Diggs is an absolutely massive loss. Combining these losses with a new head coach has me believing it will be a tough year for the Seattle Seahawks.

Los Angeles Rams (o/u 8.5 Wins)
The Rams are the last team to win a Super Bowl from this division and always come into the season with lofty standards. That should be the case when you have a super talented Head Coach in Sean McVay and a future Hall of Fame QB in Matthew Stafford. I expect this offense to be the best in this division, with Stafford slinging to all his weapons.
The Nacua-Kupp duo is as solid as any receiving duo here, and Kyren Williams came into his own as the feature back. Jared Verse and Braden Fiske join the defense to attempt to replace half of what Aaron Donald was.
There is no replacement for that man, but look for Verse to be one of the best young rookies in the league. Overall, this team should be above average, and I see a path for this offense to lead them to an NFC West title.

NFC West Betting Preview Division Winner
Considering the odds and the ceiling this team brings to the table, I absolutely love the value of the Los Angeles Rams at +325. It is 2024–2025, so we are in an offensively driven league. This Rams team has far better skill positions than any other team in this division outside of San Fran.
Sure, the defense may have taken a hit, but so did every other defense in the league. When you weigh out both sides of the ball, there is no reason to lay the juice with the Niners. This Rams team is just as talented and may even have a higher ceiling.

These two QBs have a ton of history and have done well going back and forth with each other. Goff is coming off an amazing year, leading the Lions to success, and now has extremely lofty expectations heading into this season. Personally, I would not be shocked if a Lions team with real expectations let us down.
Sure, they had a great 2024, but I can see a slump season happening very quickly. Although Detroit is not scared to air it out, I can see them focusing more on the ground and pounding this season, as most defenses will play softer to try and negate the passing offense.
Goff has a very high ceiling, but Stafford has been doing it consistently for years. Look for Matthew Stafford to have another great season and pass for more yards than Jared Goff. I am extremely high on the ceiling of this Los Angeles offense.
