Best Bet For Wednesday (August 21st): MMA Predictions

MLB Wednesday: Philadelphia Phillies vs Atlanta Braves

Start Time – 7:20 PM EST

In game one of the series, the Phillies bats struggled mightily. Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper combined for seven strikeouts while never reaching base, and the Phillies were held to just one run.

The Braves didn’t do much better at the plate – as has been the case lately. They scored just three runs, one of which was walked in. Their lineup is banged up in a big way with Whit Merrifield, Ramon Laureano and Gio Urshela now set as regular starters for the time being. As a result, I don’t anticipate the run scoring to get much better.

When you factor all these pieces in and then take a look at the starting pitching for Wednesday – Max Fried and Aaron Nola – you have to love the under. Set at eight runs, there should be a buffer there, which is why I like it as my favorite MLB prediction for August 21st.
