Stanley Cup Final Game 4 Odds
Florida Panthers (+100) | Edmonton Oilers (-120)
Panthers +1.5 (-250) | Oilers -1.5 (+215)
Over 5.5 (+100) | Under 5.5 (-120)
The Oilers are once again favorites in Game 4 after closing as high as -145 in Game 3. Odds of -120 imply a 54.55% chance of victory, while the Panthers are 50-50 at even money. The total is once again set at 5.5, with the Under 5.5 favored despite a seven-goal Game 3.
Stanley Cup Final Game 4 Picks & Predictions
The Edmonton Oilers continue to claim that they’re playing solid hockey and know how to beat the Florida Panthers, but they haven’t shown that yet. They had a good push late in the third period of Game 3, but it wasn’t enough against Sergei Bobrovsky and the Cats.
The Panthers have now won five straight meetings against the Oilers this season with a combined score of 21-8.
Sure, the Oilers got on the board three times in Game 3, but their big guns have yet to find the back of the net in this series. The Panthers have done a great job of limiting the superstars on Edmonton’s side, with credit going to Aleksander Barkov, Gustav Forsling, and, of course, Bobrovsky in net, among others.
As I said in the Game 3 preview, I can’t take the Oilers as favorites without seeing them win a game. The Panthers are smaller underdogs in Game 4, but I’d happily take them at +100 or better to sweep the series. Logic says that the Oilers have to win at least one game, and maybe they put it all on the line to do so, but I can’t back them at -120.
However, I may take a crack at the Over 5.5 here at +100. The Oilers should go all out for offense in Game 4, as the Panthers have stymied them thus far. Edmonton needs to score to win, and that will allow for some counterattacks the other way.
Of course, if the Panthers are winning by a goal or two (or perhaps three) in the third period, the Oilers have nothing to lose by pulling the goalie multiple times.
